Senior Software Engineer

We are eager to find a Senior Engineer with a proven track record of building killer software applications in use by companies large and small. Our technology platform requires the capture, processing, and management of Big Data in real-time. The right person for this role will help ensure we are bringing state of the art technology to market and will help to lead Meteor to the next major milestones along our technology and product roadmap.

Must Haves

  • Several years experience building applications and services with a dynamic language, such as Python, Ruby, or Lisp. Will also consider experience with languages such as Java or C++
  • REST web services experience, especially with public, supported API
  • Solid familiarity with architectural and design patterns
  • Working knowledge of map/reduce data analysis and processing techniques
  • High-volume web site experience
  • At least a BS degree in Computer Science (or related field)
  • Self-starter and creative problem solver
  • Ability to work quickly while ensuring rock-solid application performance and security.
Nice-to-Haves
    Masters in Computer Science or Related Field Experience developing Adobe Flash or AS3 and integrating/embedding it on web sites Development experience with map-reduce RDBMS experience beyond MySQL/MyISAM Experience/familiarity with data visualization, particularly graph visualization Experience with Web metrics and analytics a plus

Sales Engineer

We're an early stage Seattle-based startup looking for a talented Sales Engineer to join our team. Our flagship product, Meteor Tracker, is the first effective earned media marketing solution for advertisers, publishers, and ad agencies. Our customers use it to measure, buy and optimize earned media with the precision of paid media.

Our Sales Engineer will support Account Executives through the sales process, and guide customers from proof-of-concept through deployment of Meteor product.s

In this role, our Sales Engineer is the technical point of contact with customers. Her/his responsibilities include establishing relationships with our customer's technical teams, technical account management, product demonstration and custom deployment and reporting.

This position requires:

  • A high-degree of professionalism.
  • Fantastic written and oral communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of HTML, JS, CSS and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Flash, Silverlight and various content management systems (WordPress, Typepad and others).
  • A passion for all things social media.
  • A good, collaborative and startup friendly attitude.
  • A college degree is preferred but not necessary.


Responsibilities include:
  • Become the technical expert for all types of Meteor deployments.
  • Assist our customer's technical teams in deploying Meteor as efficiently as possible.
  • Answer technical questions during the sales process through documentation, presentation, and demonstrations.
  • Support Account Executives with custom reports as necessary.
  • Assist the product development team with feature priorities and quality assurance based on interactions with customers.
