Senior Software Developer

Meteor Solutions is hiring a senior software developer.  We’re a Seattle-based social analytics and advertising start-up with killer customers, a great team, and real revenue.  Our technology platform aggregates and analyzes sharing data from millions of transactions per day in real-time.  Our products and services provide customers like Microsoft, AT&T, and MTV with analytics and targeting applications that engage influential users and increase sharing.

We’re looking for a senior developer with 5+ years of experience to help expand our platform and work on the applications running on it.  We are seeking someone who is interested in working with large data sets and building scalable data analytics and digital media products.

We use the following technologies to build our platform and products:
-       Python (incl. Django)
-       CouchDB (incl. map/reduce)
-       PostgreSQL
-       Redis
-       AWS

If you already work with some of these, that’s awesome. We don’t expect that of every new hire, though – we are looking for bright, passionate developers, not keywords.  If you’re smart, experienced building web-based software, and love to learn we’d like to hear from you.

-       BA or BS
-       5+ years of software development experience
-       Experience designing and building innovative new features and products
-       Work quickly and carefully

Client Services/Reporting Intern

Come join us and be a part of an exciting startup environment with incredible potential.  As a Client Services/Reporting Intern, you will join the ranks of some of the smartest folks in the Social Media Marketing scene.  While you take part in transformative business initiatives to drive amazing service and results for our clients, you’ll become well versed in the real-world monetary impact that Word of Mouth and online sharing have on site traffic and revenue.

Based in the Pioneer Square area of Downtown Seattle, Meteor Solutions’ proprietary technology platform helps our clients increase the reach, engagement and revenue of their sites and marketing efforts through online Word of Mouth Activation and Analytics.  For more information please visit our website at www.meteorsolutions.com.

For consideration, please be:

  • Energetic, savvy, hands-on and have great [written/verbal] communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the social media space – this means familiarity with blogging and the intricacies of communicating via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Stumbleupon, etc.
  • Proficient with MS Office, particularly Powerpoint & Excel
  • Extensible and be able and willing to perform a variety of tasks as we all do from time to time
  • Available to be onsite about 20 hours/week
  • A senior level undergrad or graduate student (ideally pursuing a business degree) able to juggle the school workload and the demands of a fast-paced technology startup.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Becoming familiar with our proprietary platform for monitoring and measuring Word of Mouth sharing impact on site traffic and revenue
  • Assisting with the analysis of Word of Mouth traffic
  • Helping to create custom client reports
  • Helping the Account Management team with client/campaign maintenance as needed
  • Attending various client meetings and sales pitches
  • Researching and staying abreast of social media industry and marketing trends
  • Light administrative duties
